Chris Barltrop has entertained thousands in European arenas, using his huge skills and experience in devising, directing, and facilitating as well as performing,  successfully managing performers and crews from all cultures, handling the logistics of site layout, equipment and heavy transport, and responding to unusual media requests.


Warm, understated and courteous - with an innate ability to deliver performance tailored precisely to the occasion - Chris draws out the best from participants, organisers and setting. His long and successful experience in marketing, promotion and Press liaison also ensures publicity opportunities are maximised.  Indeed, many clients also use his stand-alone PR services. 

In the theatre, Chris's background as a professional actor has expanded into directing, where he's quickly forging a new reputation.

He's worked in BBC radio, where second-by-second planning is essential;  is highly experienced in front of TV cameras and chat-show microphones;  has taken part in two Royal Variety shows; has presented performances on several occasions to members of the Royal family; has hosted delicate high-profile events such as the unveiling of a new War Memorial for Worcester City Council; and in July 2012 devised, directed and stage-managed a unique 'Royal Serenade' performance for HM The Queen and Prince Philip on their Diamond Jubilee visit to Hereford.

July 2012: Arena Director and 'Royal Ringmaster' for Herefordshire's 'Diamond Day' marking The Queen's visit to Herefordshire. Devising, co-ordinating, producing and presenting a Royal Serenade performed to Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire, VIPs, dignitaries, the media and upwards of 15,000 members of the public. Also selecting, programming, stage-managing and presenting Arena events throughout the day.  And sharing commentator duties!

December 1997 annually to December 2012:  Ringmaster and assistant Artistic Director (all in French language) for the Grand Cirque de Noël , Toulouse, France.

General Manager and Ringmaster for the Moscow State Circus, Gerry Cottle's Circus, Jimmy Chipperfield's Circus World, Continental Circus Berlin and others.

Marketing Manager, Theatre Royal Newcastle Upon Tyne 1987/88.  Including devising and coordinating PR events for the reopening of the theatre after refurbishment, gaining major national media coverage.

Royal Variety Performance 1996:  devised,  directed  and appeared in a special Moscow State Circus sequence.
